Partnerships in digital media have become increasingly important business development tools for start-ups and the major media companies as online and wireless users demand their favorite music and other content at any time and everywhere. There is also increased interest in strategic investments by the larger corporate players, and Google has announced it is launching a corporate venture arm. At the same time, the iPhone has created a platform for the beginnings of a new generation of social networking start-ups, and the venture capital firms are focusing on iPhone related investments.
